Emmaus boys wrestlers go unbeaten at Tamaqua tourney
The Emmaus wrestling team had as good of a stretch as a team could want over the course of a three-day span that kept the Hornets unbeaten on the season.
After dominating East Stroudsburg North 76-0 last Thursday to remain unbeaten in East Penn Conference competition, Emmaus went a 6-0 in Saturday’s Blue Raider Duals at Tamaqua High School. All six of the Hornets’ wins in the tournament came by 17 or more points, including three wins by more than 60.
The Hornets opened up Saturday’s showing with a 37-20 victory over Central Dauphin, which turned out to be Emmaus’ toughest test of the tournament. Emilio Albanese (133 pounds), Jackson Max (145) and Logan Roth (285) all picked up wins by fall. Cameron Martinez won by technical fall at 107 pounds; Teagan Caciolo (127) and Xyler Sallit (172) secured major decisions; and Talen Springer (114) and Tommy Fallstich (152) won by decision to round out the Hornet winners.

The Hornets won 11 of the 13 matches against Salisbury in their third match, including four forfeits that helped secure a dominant 61-9 win. Levi Max (121) pinned his opponent in just 15 seconds, one of four Hornets to secure pins in the match; Caciolo (127), Sallit (172) and DeCesare were the others. Albanese and Aiden Bayard both secured technical fall wins at 133 and 152 pounds, respectively, while Armstrong secured a decision at 189 pounds.
