Dillard wins Beast title

Bethlehem Catholic finished seventh in the Beast of the East tournament recently with senior Keanu Dillard coming away with the 138-pound title.

Dillard defeated Malvern Prep’s Tyler Conroy 2-1 in the ultimate tiebreaker to win his first Beast championship.

Dillard lost in the finals last year to Anthony Knox of St. John Vianney (NJ).

Dillard gave up two points in his six wins in the tournament and recorded two falls en route to the championship.

Jack Cole was the only other Hawk to medal at the tournament, as he took fifth at 126-pounds.

Cole defeated Jayden Jackson of Loyola Blakefield (MD) 7-5 in the medal rounds.

After losing in the second round of the tournament, Cole battled back to win six straight matches before losing in the consolation semifinals by a 6-4 margin to Finn O’Brien of Blair Academy.
