Have fun giving back to the community at the Promise Food and Wellness Center in Allentown. You will directly make an impact in your community by helping individuals and families with food insecurities. Volunteers will stock shelves, pick and pack orders, organize food areas, clean, sanitize, help families complete surveys, assist families with groceries, make friends and of course have fun. Sights for Hope, Allentown, is in search of compassionate and energetic individuals to assist clients with visual impairments during center based and community based programs. Sights for Hope clients participate in life skills education, support groups and social recreational activities. Courtesy and sighted guide training is required for all volunteers. St. Luke’s University Health Network, Anderson Campus, Easton, needs volunteers who will spend time socializing and providing patients with nonclinical comfort items as well as assist staff with various nonclinical duties in the emergency department. River Crossing YMCA, 425 S. 15th St., Allentown, has a need for The Warming Station, the emergency homeless shelter through April 30. Volunteers are needed 6:30-9 p.m. every night of the week to welcome guests, serve warm meals, distribute supplies and offer compassionate support to those experiencing homelessness. Perfect Fit for Working Women, YMCA Allentown, is in need of a Perfect Fit personal stylist. Volunteers in this role help women entering or reentering the workforce find professional clothing for job interviews or new careers. As a stylist, you’ll do more than just select outfits — you’ll help build confidence, provide encouragement and ensure every woman leaves feeling prepared and empowered. Volunteers assist clients in selecting professional attire that suits their needs and personal style, provide support and encouragement to boost confidence during client appointments, sort, organize and tag incoming clothing donations and maintain a clean, welcoming and organized boutique environment. Volunteers should have a passion for empowering women and promoting self-confidence, be friendly and compassionate and have a nonjudgmental demeanor. The Allentown Symphony Association is in need of Lyric Society volunteers. This position consists of scanning tickets, greeting patrons upon arrival, assisting with seating and more. For the Jazz Upstairs series, volunteers help with light setup, preshow operations and cleanup. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and able to work all three levels of the building. All volunteers attend a one-hour orientation session at Miller Symphony Hall. Orientation sessions are scheduled depending on need. Volunteers are permitted to have nonalcoholic beverages and snacks at the concession stand at no charge and parking in the transportation center deck is reimbursed.
