The Helping Hands of St. Ann Parish came together Dec. 19 to prepare boxes of food and to wrap gifts for families in need.
Over 50 parishioners volunteered to prepare two large boxes of food donations for each of the 50 families.
While the food collections were prepared in the school gymnasium, volunteers also set up stations in the cafeteria for wrapping gifts for approximately 100 children.
Families selected for the program provided wish lists of items for their children. Parishioners then chose the lists and went shopping for the items the children hoped to receive for Christmas.
The volunteers wrapped and organized the gifts for each of the families to be delivered along with two boxes of donated food items. The volunteers enjoyed helping to spread holiday cheer for struggling families.
