Salisbury schools reopen Jan. 5, 2026

All Salisbury schools continue to be closed for winter break through Jan. 2, 2026. Schools will reopen Jan. 5, 2026 with regular schedules. All Salisbury schools will have an early dismissal Jan. 9, 2026 with Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School students dismissing 12:15 p.m. followed by Salisbury Elementary School students 1:15 p.m.

With Christmas festivities now behind us, we shift to look ahead at the upcoming New Year’s festivities. SteelStacks will again hold its annual PeepsFest 3-6 p.m. Dec. 31. This event is both indoors and outdoors and features treats, crafts, fun shows and music with the famous Peep drop and fireworks 5:35 p.m. Tickets are required and these events often sell out. Wildlands Conservancy will host a First Day hike at the Black River Sanctuary 10 a.m. Jan. 1, 2026. This 2.5 mile hike will get you outside to enjoy a great local trail and end at the summit with your choice of mocktail or coffee for a New Year’s Day toast. Registration is required at wildlandspa.org.

Looking forward, all Salisbury schools will be closed Jan. 19, 2026 for Martin Luther King Day. Schools will reopen Jan. 20, 2026.

The township recycling drop off sites are now closed for the season. They will reopen in the spring. Stay tuned for dates.

Christmas trees will be collected Jan. 2, 2026 and every Tuesday in January.

There will be a recreation advisory committee meeting 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19, 2026 in the township building.
