L.V. Active Life offers various activities
Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following dances 7-10 p.m. during January in the Trexler Room.
The per person fee includes refreshments.
·Jan. 3: Country Dance

·Jan. 28: Dave and Brenda
The following dance will be held 1-3 p.m.

Dance classes include:
·Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26: Line dance with Instructor Linda Peters, 12:30 p.m.
Must have experience. You will learn the newest, most popular line dances as well as some of the classics.
·Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26: Introduction to line dances with Instructor Linda Peters, 1:45 p.m.
Learn the basic steps and proper technique with fun, easy dances to all genres of music.
·Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27: Tap beginner with Instructor Grace Conti, 9 a.m.
If you have always wanted to learn to tap dance, this class is for you. Tap shoes are required.
The following creative arts classes are offered:
·Jan. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28: Arts and crafts led by Trisha Baker, 9-11 a.m.
·Jan. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30: Suzanne Bauder’s Art for Everyone, noon.
Help is available for all media chosen. New and advanced students are welcome.
·Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29: Knit and chat group, 9 a.m.
Stop in, work on your own projects, knit, crochet or embroider.
·Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26: Drawing led by Instructor Judy Peters, 9:30 a.m.
Learn how to draw with pencils in this introductory class to composition, outlining and shading.
·Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27: Instructor Bonny Batman’s ceramics, 9 a.m.
Come join these fun ceramics ongoing classes. Price includes paints.
·Jan. 7: Paint and Sip “Grumpy Cat” led by Angela Faidley, 6-8 p.m.
Everyone will create their own masterpiece. Price includes materials and wine.
·Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29: Junk journal/book making with Instructor Jean Burd, 9:30 a.m.
Have fun making a book and filling it with themed pages. Bring glue sticks, magazines, scissors and scrapbooking supplies.
The following exercise classes will be offered:
·Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30: Tai Chi for Balance with Instructor Bob Donnelly (Pai Ma Shen), 10:30 a.m.
A holistic exercise to help reduce stress and promote physical well-being using slow flowing movement to coordinate breath and enhance strength, balance and calmness.
·Jan. 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30: Fit circuit with Instructor Sara Mercer, 12:30 p.m.
This low impact circuit style class, featuring upbeat choreography mixed with strength training, is a great overall cardio workout.
·Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26: Barre with Instructor Michele Fisher, 10:15 a.m.
A low impact toning class that blends the principles of Pilates, yoga, strength training and ballet to activate the entire body.
Focus on proper body alignment, balance, stability and flexibility and strength; targeting hips, glutes, abs and arms.
Standing and floor work and the ballet barre is used for some portions of class, but this is not a dance class.
·Jan. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28: Zumba with Instructor Grace Conti, 9:30 a.m.
Dancers and non-dancers will enjoy this Latin inspired, dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.
·Jan. 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29: Zumba with Instructor Ed Nickels, 9 a.m.
Dancers and non-dancers will enjoy this Latin inspired dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.
·Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29: Neuro Warrior with Instructor Rob Comins, 9 a.m.
This class consists of dynamic movements from Martial Arts techniques ranging from boxing, Hapkido, Karate, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong and more.
Class is beneficial for any individual who wants to move and improve activities of daily living.
The following groups will be offered:
·Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29: Photography composition basics with Instructor Ray Royer, 12:30 p.m.
This group is for anyone who wants to improve their photography skills using a cell phone or camera.
·Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29: Poetry appreciation, 2 p.m.
This group is for those who appreciate poetry.
·Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28: After A Loss ... What Comes Next? with Moderator Brenda Mason, 3 p.m.
We all experience loss. Loss can have us feel deeply alone. Meeting and sharing with others can begin the healing process.
·Jan. 26: Lehigh people with Parkinson’s with Moderator Dave Rivera, 4 p.m.
The support group empowers people with Parkinson’s and their caretakers on their journey to live their best lives.
The following history classes will be offered.
·Jan. 7: World War Ii History – The Brandenbergers with Instructor Dr. Charles Bonos, 2 p.m.
