Robert E. Bold
Robert E. Bold, 90, of Schnecksville, died Dec. 22, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Boyle) Bold.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Ernest A. and Iva M. (Reese) Bold.
He was recruited to teach printing at Harrison Morton Middle School, moving to Allen High School and completing his career at Dieruff after 30 years of service.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Whitehall.
He held elected positions at the former Dubbs Memorial UCC and the teacher’s union. He was a firefighter at Community Fire Company No. 1, Schnecksville, and volunteered with its fire police. He formerly served as president of the Upper Lehigh Historical Society.
He served for more than 20 years and as president of the Parkland School Board. He was a 20-year member of the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute board. He was also Pennsylvania School Boards Association Region 8 director. He served as president of the IU board of directors for 10 years. He earned the PSBA master school director designation and the Parkland Education Foundation Friend of Education Award. He served several terms on the LVECU board and was a president.
He was a 50-year member of the Train Collectors Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Doyle and husband Andrew of Slatington; three grandchildren, Katelyn Knapp and husband John, Dr. Andrea Doyle and husband Dr. Joseph Guan and Dr. Julia Shahin and husband Anthony; a great-grandson, Jackson; a companion, Joan Phillips of Allentown; and his late son’s companion, Stacy L. Gray of Quakertown.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Robert.
There will be a calling time 1-3 p.m., followed by a service 3 p.m., Jan. 3 at the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville
