Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will reopen Jan. 5.

The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing; household items; and toys during regular shop hours, which are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding its Warm Up Wednesday soup nights 4-6 p.m. There is a different soup every Wednesday through March 25.

This is the time of year when I like to give thanks to all my readers.
