Reminder: Garbage pickup for Allen Township residents will be Jan. 2 instead of Jan. 1 due to the holiday.

Residents wishing to dispose of live/real Christmas trees should place them curbside for collection by the public works department the evening before trash collection. Place your undecorated Christmas tree curbside on the evening before trash collection.

Public works will continue to drive around the municipality throughout January to collect trees Thursdays with the regular garbage collection.

Residents who wish to dispose of their tree in this manner must remove all ornaments, tinsel, decorations and lights from the tree before placing it curbside.

Lappawinzo is planning an Atlantic City casino trip for 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 22. There is a cost, with a rebate if you sign up by Feb. 1.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township, will host its 17th annual antiques show 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 7 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8.
