District News: Whitehall-Coplay School District closed for winter break

Whitehall-Coplay School District will be closed for winter break through Jan. 4, 2026.

Schools will reopen Jan. 5, 2026.

WCSD announced, because of community members, organizations and businesses, $7,260 in gift cards were collected for the victims of the Maryland Circle fire.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative is hosting 2026 cash bingo fundraisers, scheduled for Jan. 11, Feb. 8, March 8 and April 12 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay. Doors will open 1 p.m., and bingo starts 2 p.m.

The jackpot is $200.

Bring a canned or boxed food item for WCHI.

As we enter the winter months, be prepared for early dismissals, delays and closings. WCSD will utilize the mass notification system, social media and WFMZ to report these weather-related changes in schedule. Decisions will be made as soon as possible based on each scenario.

WHS seniors, be on the lookout for an email regarding senior portrait dates and times.

If your picture has the wrong name on it, both your student ID and yearbook picture will be mislabeled. Be sure to check it and see Mrs. Derlunas if you have an issue.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of applying to various available opportunities.

Senior class dues have been posted to My School Bucks for the senior year to cover all the general class activities throughout the entire 2025-26 academic year.
