Lehigh Christian Academy student council hosts food drive

Lehigh Christian Academy’s Student Council is making a meaningful impact close to home through its annual food drive, a community-minded service project that reaches far beyond the walls of the school.
As the number of families seeking assistance continues to rise, the need has never been greater. The Cedar Crest Food Bank now supports more than 2,000 families each year and LCA’s faithful collections help ensure local households do not go without essential food and care, according to a recent news release from the school.
For more than five years, the Cedar Crest Food Bank has provided steady, practical support to families across Lehigh County. By partnering with this mission, LCA students not only help meet an immediate community need. They also grow in the school’s core values of Christ-like leadership. The experience invites students to step into responsibility, to see the needs around them and to respond with compassion.
Lauren Crain, the teacher who facilitates the student council at LCA, explains, “They are planning, communicating and working together while learning to serve others with compassion and humility.
“Through this hands-on experience, they practice leading the way Jesus taught: through selfless action and love,” Crain added.
Through the food drive, LCA students are discovering what it means to be leaders shaped by faith – young people who care for their neighbors today and grow into mature, service-minded adults.
Lehigh Christian Academy is located at 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown.
