Freedom recently announced the college destinations for two athletes, as Karee Vandever and Daniel Schiffert are moving on to the next level to pursue their athletic and academic careers.
Vandever will be heading to Fairleigh Dickinson to play Division-I lacrosse.
She’s scored 195 career goals and registered 65 assists in her career.
She was a second-team EPC player in lacrosse last season and a first-team all-star in field hockey this past fall.
Schiffert will be playing football for the Liberty Flames out of Lynchburg, Va.
The Flames are in Conference USA and have become a solid FBS school, despite finishing 4-8 last season.
Schiffert, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound lineman for the Pates played center last season and will continue playing on the offensive line for the Flames.
Schiffert was an EPC all-star this past season at center and defensive tackle.
He also was a state qualifier in wrestling last year, winning his first district championship at heavyweight a year ago.
