The Holidays are Here! The Christmas Parties at the Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown could use as much help as possible from 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 22 & 23, to set-up and clean-up the party, transport residents to and from the party, deliver presents to the residents, serve food and overall bring the holiday spirit of the season to Phoebe. Volunteers are needed for St. Luke’s University Health Network gift shops at various campus locations throughout the Lehigh Valley. St. Luke’s volunteers help the patients, visitors and staff. Sights for Hope is in search of compassionate and energetic individuals to assist visually impaired clients during center-based and community-based programs. Our clients participate in life skills education, Support Groups, and social rec activities 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays. Minimum age 21. Children can read to dogs or cats at The Center For Animal Health & Welfare in Easton. One child per adult. Books are available or bring your own. This activity encourages children to read and helps our shelter animals get used to being around kids, which can make them more adoptable! The Sanctuary at Haafsville, a private non-profit animal rescue organization, is seeking Board members with a passion for animal welfare to help guide our organization’s growth.
