We’re already off to a cold start this winter. Our back patio has a sheet of ice that’s not showing any sign of melting. On Thursday, I called our dog Lizzy to come in. She took the shortcut across the icy concrete pad at full speed; slid across the ice; off the concrete pad and down a step to the brick patio. At this point she was a canine bowling ball. She took out a whole stack of plastic flowerpots and finally stopped, stunned in a heap! Fortunately she doesn’t seem to have any physical injuries; there may be a little psychological trauma. Watch your step out there!

Merry Christmas to my readers!
