DevonHouse residents celebrate the holidays and re-opening with an open house and tree lighting

In 1989, DevonHouse opened its doors to senior citizens who could not care for themselves on a continuous basis but wanted to live out the rest of their lives being social and active as well as take care of their health concerns.

DevonHouse expanded its physical building in 2008 and again in 2013.

A full-time nursing staff is in-house 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Three meals are served every day with snacks available all the time. Activities are always available with music groups, games and activities for the residents to get involved in.

In 2022, the Hamister Group took ownership of DevonHouse. The facility has since completed another major update on the property by renovating the interior and exterior of the building prompting the first grand reopening of DevonHouse Senior Living.

Upgrades include the entrance, main room and hallways.

A recent open house included entertainment with Michael Patrick on guitar singing country and Christmas favorites.

Visitors were able to chat with the residents and tour the building during the open house event.

As evening approached, families of residents began to arrive for the tree lighting.

Activities Director Christina Hoffman said a lot of the residents made their own tree decorations.

With the usual countdown, 5-4-3-2-1, the tree lit up.

Refreshments included hot cocoa which tasted great on a cold night. Violinist Chris Lorenzeth entertained during the tree lighting.
