Applicants are sought for vacancy of Ward 4 township commissioner

Applicants are being sought for a vacancy on the Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners.

The vacancy is for a commissioner to represent Ward 4.

Ward 4 is represented by Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners Vice President Rodney Conn, who chose to not run for reelection.

The Dec. 11 commissioners’ meeting was Conn’s last meeting as a township commissioner. Conn’s tenure concludes Dec. 31.

The Dec. 11 meeting was the final commissioners’ meeting for 2025. The Dec. 23 commissioners meeting is canceled. The meeting was scheduled for a Tuesday because the Dec. 25 regular second Thursday meeting date is Christmas Day.

The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners reorganization meeting is scheduled 6 p.m. Jan. 5, 2026, in the meeting room of the municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave.

No candidates filed to seek election in the May 20 Primary Election for Ward 4. There were no write-ins in the Nov. 4 General Election for Ward 4.

Ward 4 is on the west side of the township.

Ward 4 is bounded roughly by Lindberg Avenue on the north, Country Club Avenue on the east, the areas of Devonshire Road and Fish Hatchery Road on the south and Patricia Drive on the west.

Salisbury Township Manager Cathy Gorman is requesting residents interested in representing Ward 4 as commissioner to contact her. The deadline is Dec. 28.

Gorman posted the Notice of Board of Commissioners Vacancy for Ward 4 on the township website Dec. 10.

Those interested in being considered for the appointment as Ward 4 commissioner are to submit an application form and mail it along with a resume to the attention of: Ms. Cathy Gorman, township manager, 2900 S. Pike Ave., Allentown, 18103 or: cgorman@salisburylehighpa.gov.
