Public Library of Catasauqua: Staff reflect on books, game they loved

The staff of the Public Library of Catasauqua has compiled a list of one item they interacted with in the last year that they loved.

Amy: “My Friends” by Fredrik Backman is a book that captures the relationships between close friends in all of their complications and beauty.

Daryl: The first two (of three) volumes of Stephen Katkin’s biography of Joseph Stalin go beyond mere biography to encompass the forces of history in the 20th century.

Brittaney: “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden was another thriller by this fine writer, the twists and suspense of which keep you hooked all the way through.

Ben: Deltarune is an indie role-playing game for most gaming platforms that has a good story and great characters.

The library will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas, as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Don’t forget to stop by or call for information about our Gaming Club, formerly the Minecraft Club, which meets several times a month and is free to all who come.

This month, our family movie is “Rudolph.” The showing is 11 a.m. Dec. 20.

The book club for adults will meet 3 p.m. Jan. 7, 2026. This month’s book is “Skipping Christmas” by John Grisham.

The Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays. Our Maker-Space crafting center is always available for your creative endeavors.
