Coplay Public Library hosted Santa Claus Dec. 6 at its 49 S. Fifth St. site for children of all ages to talk with the jolly man in red and do holiday-themed crafts.
Library Director Christina Murzdeck and staff member Nancy Zelko said they were excited about the Santa visit and the craft-making table for the kids and their parents to enjoy.
Many kids enjoyed coming up close and talking with Santa. A few of the younger ones were a little hesitant to sit with Santa, so their parents held them in a separate chair beside him. Kids were given the opportunity to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas.
Maverick White, as he sat with his mom, Abby, told Santa he wanted a tractor for Christmas.
Matthew Christman stood next to Santa, while Santa held his infant sister Anna. Their parents, Angela and Ryan, affectionately call her Bumble Bee. When asked what Matthew wanted for Christmas, he replied, “Toys.”
Sammy Lopez, when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, quickly and enthusiastically said, “Legos.” After a five-second pause, he added, “Lots of Legos!” His younger sister, Sophia, was standing with their mother, Olivia, about 6 feet away and said to Santa, “I want Legos, too!”
After the kids met with Santa, they gathered around the craft table to make small items for the holidays.
With the library nicely decorated, providing a cheerful ambience for the families, all enjoyed a special holiday time with Santa and crafts. There were many happy kids, parents and staff that day.
