Janice ‘Nin’ Snyder

of Catasauqua

Janice “Nin” Snyder, 89, of Catasauqua, died Nov. 26, 2025, in Silver Spring, Md. She was the wife of the late Frank “Jive” Snyder for nearly 50 years.

Born in Allentown, she a daughter of Mike and Emma Brosky of Catasauqua.

She graduated from Catasauqua High School. She earned her registered nurse degree from Temple University.

She dedicated her professional life to nursing, providing care and compassion at Bethlehem Steel and later serving the educational community at Lehigh County Vo-Tech.

She taught arts and crafts, provided free tennis lessons to the community, volunteered at the local food bank, coached youth volleyball and sponsored underprivileged children from New York City and Allentown.

She is survived by three sons, Eric and wife Christine of Catasauqua, James and wife Taylor and Marc of Lower Saucon Township; five grandchildren, Andrew and wife Kayla, Emma, Madison, Olivia and AnneMarie Makle and husband Thomas of Silver Spring, Md.; one great-grandchild, Ethan Makle; four sisters, Jean Schlener, Patsy Miller, Sandy Diacogiannis and Michelle Haines; and many loving nieces, nephews and countless friends.

She was predeceased by four siblings, Ronald Brosky, Gail Gillespie, MaryAnn Murtaugh and Jackie Brosky.

There will be a calling time 6-8 p.m. Dec. 18 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, and 10-11 a.m. Dec. 19 at St. John Fisher Roman Church, 1229 Third St., North Catasauqua. A Mass of Christian burial is set for 11 a.m. Dec. 19 at the church.
