Adelaide K. Turk, 85, of Emmaus, died Dec. 6, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Karl Herbert Turk Jr., who died in 2015. Born in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Ferdinand and Adelaide (Hamberry) Kadan.
She graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, Md. and earned a teaching degree from Marymount College (Tarrytown, N.Y.). She taught kindergarten in the Baltimore County School District for several years before marrying her husband in 1962.
She actively volunteered for organizations in the Lehigh Valley area including Birthright, utilizing her teaching skills to assist adults improving their reading abilities through local churches.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Emmaus, where she volunteered for the Fall Fest and for several years served on committees for the DeSales University Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
She is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Kim; daughter, Laura; granddaughters, Christina and Kaitlin.
She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Kadan.
A memorial service will be held noon Dec. 20 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will be held 11 a.m. to noon before the service in the funeral home. Condolences may be placed at www.BKRFH.com.
