Unique nightly Advent attractions at Sun Inn Courtyard

Bethlehem’s Advent Calendar runs from Dec. 1 through 23, the only public presentation of its kind, according to DBA Manager Ty Versocki. “No two nights are ever the same,” said Versocki of the 17-year tradition.

Complete with a bell ringer to announce that evening’s door opening and carolers, both from the Touchstone Theatre, the atmosphere is one of celebration and anticipation.

Each night’s revelation is held in the cozy confines of the Sun Inn Courtyard on the Sun Inn Stage.

After a knock on the Advent Calendar door Dec. 9, attendees welcomed residents of the Bethlehem Historic District, whose nonprofit Bethlehem Historic District Association appeared as a group of carolers and regaled the public with holiday favorites such as ‘Deck the Halls’, ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Oh Little Town of Bethlehem’.

Local businesses, organizations, churches and others are involved with presenting each evening’s surprise revelation.
