Union Lutheran seeks embroiderers

On All Saints Sunday in November, Pastor Gordon Camp of Union Lutheran Church, invited people to write the names on a white linen altar cloth of loved ones who are no longer living.

Member Irene Folk is now looking for individuals who would like to help embroider the names.

This will be an ongoing project starting in the new year, probably in the morning during the church’s open hours.

“We supply the needle and thread. It will be simple stitching. Come and try your hand at it,” Folk said.

She noted the sewing time provides an opportunity to meet new people. Folk said the names on the cloth are a way to connect generations, as people view the names of relatives and friends who came before them.

Call Folk at 484-241-8386 to learn more or to volunteer.
