Trojans were a ‘tight-knit’ team in ‘25

The Parkland High School football team’s quest for its second straight District 11 6A championship and third in the last four years came up just short, falling in the title game 42-17. It ended the year for the Trojans with just their first loss and were 12-1 overall and 7-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.

“The team as a whole did an excellent job with players gaining new opportunities to either start or have increased varsity playing time,” said head coach Tim Moncman. “That is a tribute to their off-season work and the coaching they get from our freshmen and JV coaching staffs, preparing them to be contributors. Guys like Finn Coen, Aidan Johnston, Jeremie Jean Baptiste, Ben Moll, Juan Bermudez Delgado (to name a few) all stepped up and grew as players to complement our returning starters.”

Parkland went 10-0 during the regular season and then won its first two district games, 49-14 over Stroudsburg in the first round and 35-14 against Nazareth in the semifinals.

“Our standard and our goal every season is to compete and develop during the regular season, earn a playoff berth and put together three wins in the second season,” Moncman said. “Easton came out and executed in all three phases of the game. Their offense showed balance, their defense caused issues, and their special teams certainly put them in the position to have the success they did.”

There are 22 senior members of the program that will be graduating, including Nassim Adams, Cooper Bauer, Juan Bermudez Delgado, JJ Brader, Logan Christman, Caleb Corsa, Greyson Dancsecs, Tykear Davis, Steven DeSmedt, Julian Diaz, Matthew Dorsey, Neche Ewuzie, Cody Hartman, Andrew Hernandez, Jeremie Jean Baptiste, Michael Leuthe, Domenic Martrich, Asher Pijut, Jude Ruisch, Liam Spang, Anthony Treglia and James Tyler.

Finn Coen finished with 1,470 yards passing and 20 touchdowns. TJ Lawrence rushed 150 times for 1,114 and 26 touchdowns. Naquan Thomason had 463 yards and seven scores. Adams caught 30 passes for 530 yards and four touchdowns and Blake Nassry had 31 receptions for 448 yards and nine TDs.

Michael Car finished with 53 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. Spang led the team with 94 tackles, 10 for loss and three touchdowns. Lawrence recorded 70 tickets and six tackles for loss. Jaren Sanchez tallied 64 tackles, four for loss.

“This was perhaps the most close-knit group of young men we had come through our program,” said Moncman. “Up and down the roster, this class contributed to the standard of our team for work ethic throughout the year, and would make time to hype up and support the young guys. We had four excellent senior captains (plus T.J. Lawrence as a junior), but we certainly had leadership represented by the whole Class of 2026.”

“We will get to see who are the leaders are for the 2026 season, begin to form our team identity, and get to meet and see our rising sophomores train. Our goals each year, especially in 2026, do not happen without our strength and conditioning.”
