North Catasauqua: Presbyterian church to hold food drive Dec. 12

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will hold its monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 12 in the church parking lot. Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, is holding a braised filet mignon in wine dinner Dec. 13. Seating times for the dinner are 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The deadline for reservations was Dec. 7. All proceeds benefit Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors.

The Catasauqua High School music department asks the public to join them in National Wreaths Across America Dec. 13. Help the band honor local heroes and sponsor a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

Santa will visit the children of North Catasauqua and Catasauqua boroughs Dec. 14 at the fire station, 90 Bridge St., Catasauqua. There will be activities, cookies, hot chocolate, candy canes and more. Visit with Santa anytime between 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Presents, provided by parents/guardians, will be given to each participant’s child during their photo.

No presents will be accepted the day of the event. Presents can be dropped off at fire station 6-8 p.m. Dec. 12.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, is asking bakers to help out Santa. The church is helping the North Catasauqua and Catasauqua fire departments with their Santa event Dec. 14. Anyone willing to bake and donate homemade cookies and treats are asked to drop them off at the parish office Dec. 12.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua’s next free community lunch will be held 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dec. 15. The lunch is for community members with food insecurity or those who could use a helping hand.

The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 6 p.m. Jan. 5, 2026, for its reorganization meeting at the municipal building, 1066 Fourth St. The regular council meeting will follow 7 p.m.
