At the Nov. 20 Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners meeting, Ordinance 2025-04 was a topic for discussion. This ordinance amends Chapter 27 zoning.
This ordinance adds provisions for uses originally not specifically noted in the zoning code. It also revises, adds and deletes certain definitions.
Included are renaming within the commercial district. Also included are procedures for reviewing conditional use applications and updating administrative procedures.
The ordinance was approved by a role call vote.
Resolution 2025-53 was approved. This resolution is regarding land development at 1470 Brookside Road. This proposed development is between East Texas Road and Celia Drive which will be accessed from Lamb Drive. The development is 5.56 acres divided into 10 lots with eight lots being used for single homes.
The Sprouts Market land project, Resolution 2025-54, was approved for preliminary/final land development with Jaindl Land Company. The location is 2550 Route 100 between Schoeneck Road and the new Sauerkraut Extension. It will be part of the St. Luke’s Medical Center and include a commercial plaza building and a bank.
Resolution 2025-55 was approved. This resolution authorizes an indemnification agreement for Brookside Meadow Apartment for the land development at 3500 Brookside Road.
The bill list was approved as well as the minutes from the Nov. 6 board of commissioners meeting.
