Burglaries
A resident of Indian Creek Road, Upper Milford Township, learned $600 cash was removed from the home, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 20.
Sometime between Aug. 6 and Oct. 6, someone used force to enter a residence along Mertztown Road, Lower Macungie Township and remove power tools with an estimated value of $4,150, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Assault
A Macungie man was arrested for allegedly striking another person multiple times in the face with his fist and the handle of a sledgehammer at a location along Four Seasons Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 12:04 p.m. Sept. 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Weapon possession on school property
A student at Eyer Middle School, 5616 Buckeye Road, allegedly had a Swiss Army knife while at school Sept. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Retail theft
Someone allegedly scammed approximately $1,000 in gift cards at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 12:45 and 2:10 p.m. Sept. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The suspect was described as in his late 40s. He was dressed in black clothing and wore neon green shoes and a neon green baseball cap, according to authorities.
Forgery
A 26-year-old male, of Brooklyn, N.Y. was arrested for allegedly purchasing $1,300 in merchandise using a fake account with fake identification at retailer Costco Wholesale, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, Sept. 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft by deception
Two residents of Main Road East, Upper Milford Township, learned multiple credit cards were fraudulently opened using their personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 19.
A resident of Whitemarsh Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was contacted by multiple people who tried to coerce the resident into providing her personal information and bank account information between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A resident of Church View Road, Lower Milford Township, learned her Social Security information was stolen, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The theft was reported Aug. 26.
A resident of Hidden Valley Road, Lower Macungie Township, withdrew a large sum of money and scammers were coordinating a pickup time by phone when they were told authorities were on their way, Aug. 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The scammers ended the call, according to authorities.
Crashes
A Macungie motorist was hurt when her sport utility vehicle crashed into a single-family house at 6168 Sauterne Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 5:46 p.m. Sept. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The crash reportedly resulted in a house fire. According to authorities, the motorist lost control of her vehicle. The motorist was charged with violation of driving at a safe speed. The resident of the house and the resident’s pet cat got out of the house and were not injured. The driver was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital. Macungie Ambulance also responded.
An Emmaus motorist escaped serious injury when his pickup truck crashed into a vehicle along Dillingersville Road, Lower Milford Township, 5:52 a.m. Sept. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, drove off the road and crashed into a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 3900 block of Dillingersville Road. The motorist refused transport to a medical facility for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the crash, according to authorities. Mechanics Plus Towing also responded.
A Lehighton motorist and her two young passengers escaped injury when their sport utility vehicle struck a sign along state Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township, Aug. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was southbound near the area of Interstate 78 East at approximately 6:47 p.m. when the vehicle went off the road while the driver was navigating a curve, according to authorities. Yocum Towing also responded.
A Macungie motorist escaped injury when his vehicle went off the road and struck an embankment in Lower Milford Township Aug. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling north on Kings Highway, near Palm Road, at approximately 3:16 p.m. while it was raining. The motorist lost control and went off the left side of the road and crashed into the embankment. Mechanics Plus Towing also responded.
A sport utility vehicle was slightly damaged when a sign fell from a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation utility vehicle and hit the vehicle as it was moving along Chestnut Street/state Route 29 near Beck Road, Upper Milford Township, at approximately 12:28 p.m. Aug. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A stop/slow traffic control paddle sign fell from the PennDOT truck and hit the front of the SUV. No one was hurt, according to authorities.
Six people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash along South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 12:03 p.m. Sept. 6, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, when one vehicle struck another in a head-on collision, forcing both vehicles into a third vehicle. The first vehicle was southbound on South Cedar Crest Boulevard in the right lane while there was heavy traffic in both directions. The second vehicle was northbound. While traveling toward stopped and slowing traffic in the southbound lane, the first vehicle traveled into the northbound lane and directly into the second vehicle. The collision pushed those vehicles into the third vehicle, which was in the southbound lane. The driver of the first vehicle, the driver and front passenger of the second vehicle and the driver of the third vehicle and two passengers in the third vehicle were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment. Macungie Ambulance and Getz Towing also responded.
A motorist and his passenger escaped injury when their vehicle crashed onto its side in the 4400 block of Reservoir Hill Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:27 p.m. Aug. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was traveling southbound “at a high rate of speed,” according to authorities, when the driver lost control on a left curve and the vehicle struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto the passenger side. Getz Service Center towed the vehicle from the crash scene.
DUI
A 34-year-old male motorist, of Alburtis, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of Willow Lane and Sauerkraut Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:49 a.m. Oct. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A motorist was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence in the area of U.S. Route 222/Kressler Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:21 a.m. Oct. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 29-year-old female, of Emmaus, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Buckeye Road, Upper Milford Township, 2:02 a.m. Sept. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
