Patriots look to gain experience

Freedom’s basketball team will be new of fresh faces this season.

The Patriots finished last season 12-12 and don’t return any varsity starters from a year ago.

As head coach Joe Stellato enters his 26th season with the program, this winter will certainly give him a new set of challenges with an untested group.

This year’s roster consists of Brody Stellato (Jr., G); Elijah Zimpfer (Jr., SF); Kyan Brown (Sr., PG); Pallo Odotte (Jr., F); Tyler Grillo (Sr., G); Liam Sipel (Jr., SF); Gabe Reed (Jr., F); Chase Sipel (Jr., G); Luke Twiggar (Jr., C); Luis Pagan (Jr., G); Davyan Moore (r., G); Vince Golas (So., F) and Braeden Lewis (Fr., G).

“We are a very inexperienced team with no varsity experience, but we make up for it by playing smart and working hard,” said Stellato. “We’re highly coachable, and our chemistry allows us to play extremely well together. Despite our youth, we expect to be competitive and continue improving throughout the season.”

Chase Sipel, left, is back for the Patriots.
