Seven UCC and Lutheran churches, neighbors and friends held the first Love Your Neighbor Day Nov. 15.

All of the churches have been collecting toiletries for the last month. One group of volunteers created 200 hygiene kits for the homeless outreach effort of Caring Hearts in Allentown.

Another group of volunteers helped at homes of folks with cleanup projects.

The churches that participated include: St. John’s UCC, Laury’s Station, Grace UCC, Northampton, Union UCC, Neffs, Good Shepherd UCC, Slatington, Jordan UCC, Allentown, St. John’s UCC, Fullerton and Heidleberg Union Church, Slatington.
