A beloved Parkland High School event is gearing up for yet another great turnout – Mr. Parkland 2026.

An age old Parkland High School tradition, is a talent show in which senior boys at PHS compete for the title of Mr. Parkland by showing talents of their choosing. These talents range anywhere from classics such as singing and dancing or acting to unique hobbies such as magic tricks and DJ sets.

While an entertaining and memorable experience, being the next Mr. Parkland is no easy feat. To participate, boys interested in joining must first go through the audition process to prove their talents are worthy of the Parkland stage. These auditions will be held Dec. 8 and 9, where interested members will prepare a short display of their desired talent.

A panel of judges will decide which seniors will have the opportunity to enter the competition to be the next Mr. Parkland.

Once they make it through the audition process, the boys will begin the training process to put together the show.

While each senior will come up with their own acts, as well as a dance with their escorts, the boys come together to rehearse several group dance numbers. Although they’re beginners, these dances aren’t made easy – they’re designed by choreographers to challenge the potential Mr. Parkland candidates to put hard work and dedication into creating a stage-ready show. In the process, these seniors are forced out of their comfort zones and find themselves trying new things in a fun, encouraging environment.

Although the boys are fierce competitors, this process forces them to create friendships and unforgettable bonds. In a high school as large as Parkland, with varying interests and busy schedules separating the student body, senior boys leave Mr. Parkland with a new group of friends they say they wouldn’t have found otherwise.

With that being said, Mr. Parkland is an exciting and sought-after experience, making auditions a competitive process. With a class of around 820 students, Mr. Parkland 2026 is gearing up to be an exciting one – with auditions around the corner and an exciting show ahead.
