Gerald ‘Buff’ D. Schwenk Sr.

Gerald “Buff” D. Schwenk Sr., 90, died Nov. 21, 2025, in hospice care at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Carolyn C. (Williams) Schwenk for 69 years.

He was a son of the late Charles D. and Marion E. (Glasser) Schwenk.

He was a Marine who served during the Korean conflict 1953-56.

He owned and operated the Exxon Service Center in North Catasauqua for 22 years. He then went on to work for Allentown Medical Center Associates, from where he retired at the age of 80.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Pamela J. Reichard with Todd of Greenville, S.C., Karen L. Christman with Tim of Whitehall, Cynthia A. Moses of Allentown and Teresa A. Kline with Wayne of Mariaville, Maine; a son, Gerald D. Jr. with Nicole of Catasauqua; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, William “Bill”; and a grandson, Mark R. Christman.
