Fellowship gives back for holiday

Operation Christmas Child boxes are filled

Christmas is in the air at Fellowship Community in Whitehall. Residents, staff and volunteers enjoyed an afternoon preparing gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child Nov. 12 at the senior living facility, 3000 Fellowship Drive.

Operation Christmas Child is just one of many charitable worldwide ministries provided by Samaritans Purse, led by Franklin Graham, the Christian evangelist and missionary son of Billy Graham. Operation Christmas Child has gifted more than 240 million shoeboxes, filled with novelties and necessities, for more than 30 years.

This is the first Operation Christmas Child event at Fellowship, but for many places and people, this is a yearly activity.

Staff members Laszlo Onody, vice president of pastoral services, and Kelly Gould, vice president of marketing and development, were present with other Fellowship staff and Operation Christmas Child volunteer Nelson Randolph, of Bethlehem. Randolph has been involved with Operation Christmas Child since 2007.
