A reminder as the temperature starts to cool: All coats, blankets, etc., must be kept in student lockers and not worn throughout the school day.

Pennsylvania Department of Education approved NASD to use five flexible instructional days as an alternate approach to delivering instruction in place of a day otherwise canceled due to inclement weather or building emergency. PDE will count an FID as a full day of school. During an FID, students will engage in at-home online learning.

Whenever possible, the day before an FID, students and parents will be alerted that NASD will implement an FID. If the FID is canceled due to the severity of the weather or other emergency, an additional message will be sent.

Visit the Northampton Area School District website with more detailed scheduling for such days.

The middle and high schools’ food pantries are here to help! To provide holiday meals for students and their families, consider donating ham and turkey vouchers, instant potatoes, beans, carrots and other canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, evaporated milk and mixes of stuffing, gravy, biscuits and sugar cookies.

The high school’s pantry also accepts donations of clothing and hygiene products.

If you are interested in donating or are interested in signing your child up for the backpack program, email school social worker Kaitlyn Leh at lehk@nasdschools.org.

Share the spirit of giving! The NAMS Food Pantry is currently running a holiday toy drive. On the school’s website, there is an Amazon wish list to donate for this community project for the upcoming holiday. Items can be dropped off at room 379.
