Carl Woodrow Burkhardt, 89, formerly of Allentown, died Nov. 22, 2025. Born in Allentown, to Raymond and Emma (Bealer) Burkhardt. He was a proud American who lived a life full of purpose and love. He served his country faithfully and is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a dedicated welder, making his mark in the truck manufacturing industry with Mack Trucks. His craftsmanship was a testament to his character; he took pride in every job he undertook and always lent a helping hand. A man of few words but great wisdom, he touched the lives of many through his hard work and kind spirit. Some of his hobbies include hunting deer, pheasants and rabbits as well as spending time with his grandchildren and following their sports. He enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball and basketball and planting his vegetable garden every year.
He is survived by his wife, Rose A. (Pilolli) Burkhardt; son, Scott C. (Jennifer); daughter, Kelly A.; three grandchildren, Ashley (Ben-Marvin) Egel, Kristina and Anna; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service.
