Parkland Library offering weekly story times
In December, the Parkland Community Library is excited to pivot from its regular weekly story times to host a series of enchanting themed events.
The month is all about creativity and joy, featuring a delightful array of stories, lively songs, captivating music, energetic dancing and engaging crafts that will ignite the imagination of both children and parents alike.
·Dec. 4 Krampus: Step into the world of winter folklore with this special story time celebrating the legends that inspired many holiday traditions.
Learn about holiday folklore as you explore the magical side of the season, discovering Krampus, a mythical creature from European winter stories that reminds children to behave well.
·Dec. 13 Hanukkah: Celebrate the Festival of Lights. They will explore hope, kindness and light through menorahs, dreidels and family fun. Perfect for children of all backgrounds.
·Dec. 16 Pajama Las Posadas: Get cozy in pajamas for a special story time about Mexican and Latin American holiday celebration. Relax with pajamas, blankets and stuffed animals during bedtime stories. Best for ages 3-5.
·Dec. 19 Gingerbread: Celebrate the holiday season with the library’s gingerbread story time.
Enjoy Christmas stories, lively songs and a gingerbread craft to spark creativity.
This cozy program is perfect for families to share in the magic of the season.
·Dec. 27 Baby Massage: Join Whitney of Mama Aura Wellness for a bonding experience with nurturing touch for babies eight weeks through crawling.
A baby massage story activates senses and explores age-appropriate literature with a caregiver.
·Dec. 30 New Year’s Eve Eve: Celebrate New Year’s Eve a day early with the library’s Eve Eve event.
Families can enjoy the countdown without staying up late, offering a fun, creative year-end celebration.
