LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

BAVTS Thanksgiving holiday preparation

Since 2015, BAVTS has organized a Thanksgiving meal drive for those less fortunate, serving families within our three sending school districts: Bethlehem, Northampton and Saucon Valley. Each meal feeds between four to six people. The meals are delivered the day before Thanksgiving, accompanied by a group of instructors and students from various career and technical student organizations. In the past, our school has provided over 100 meals to families within our district. If anyone feels inclined and is willing to contribute to our drive, please reach out to the school and contact Ms. Janelle Schaeffer at schaefferj@bavts.org.

The staff recently prepared the building for a Halloween surprise for the students. This year’s theme was “Harry Potter.” The lobby was divided into five segments: The Dark Forest; Platform 9¾; The Potion Roo; The Three Broomsticks; and an area representing the four Hogwarts houses- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Students received a wand (pretzel stick) and candy, along with homemade nonalcoholic butter beer apple cider slushies.

SkillsUSA students are starting to prepare to compete for locals or in school competition for the upcoming district competition which will be held Feb. 4 with a snow date the following day. The leadership competitions are the first to be completed. BAVTS has several teams participating.
