DUI crash

A 19-year-old female, of Hellertown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after police were called to a crash in the 1500 block of Seidersville Road where a vehicle crashed into the back of a trailer, pushing it about 75 yards, Nov. 9, according to Salisbury police.

Vehicle theft and pursuit

Officers attempted to stop a stolen 2009 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when it entered Interstate 78 West from West Rock Road Nov. 10, according to Salisbury police. The driver of the motorcycle exited the highway onto the Emmaus Avenue off-ramp. The driver next struck a guardrail and landed on an embankment before fleeing the area on foot, leaving the motorcycle behind at the scene.

Simple possession

A 16-year-old Salisbury High School student was charged Nov. 11 with simple possession after allegedly having a vaping device in his possession at Salisbury Township High School, 500 E. Montgomery Street, which field tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, according to Salisbury police.

Reckless driving

Officers were called to the 1100 block of South Cedar Crest Boulevard for a report of a reckless driver Nov. 8, according to Salisbury police. Officers located the vehicle at a gas station and spoke to the driver who explained her unsafe driving was due to her eyeglasses being broken and only having one working lens. She contacted family to pick her up from the scene, according to authorities.

Hazmat incident

Officers responded to Salisbury Township High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., for a report of a possible hazmat incident Nov. 10, according to Salisbury police. Officers assisted the fire department and a Lehigh County Special Operations unit at the scene. The school was evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Tobacco in schools prohibited

A 15-year-old student was charged Nov. 12 with use of tobacco in schools after allegedly having a vaping device in her possession at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., according to Salisbury police. The device field tested positive for nicotine, according to authorities.

Possession

Officers were called to the Arts Academy Charter School, 1610 E. Emmaus Ave., Nov. 13 after staff discovered a small amount of marijuana on a juvenile student, according to Salisbury police.

Assists

Officers were called to retail area Promenade Saucon Valley, 2845 Center Valley Parkway, Upper Saucon Township, Nov. 9 by Upper Saucon Township Police for mutual aid assistance on a robbery, according to Salisbury police.

Salisbury Police K-9 Ecco and his handler responded to the 1900 block of Silvex Road, Bethlehem, Nov. 14 for mutual aid assistance at a traffic stop, according to Salisbury police.

Disturbances

Officers were called to the 3200 block of Lehigh Street Nov. 14 for a disturbance involving a motorist and a pedestrian, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

Officers were called to fast food restaurant Wendy’s, 3390 Lehigh St., Nov. 11 for a disturbance. No arrests were made.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Voortman Avenue Nov. 10, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

Officers were called to the 3100 block of Capital Street Nov. 8 for a disturbance, according to Salisbury police. No arrests were made.

Missing person

Officers were called to the 1500 block of Paxford Road for a report of a missing elderly female Nov. 8, according to Salisbury police. Officers investigating the incident assisted in locating the female who was found safe in New Jersey, according to authorities.

Violations approved

Between Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 a total of nine school bus video violations were approved to bring the total to 117 approved violations for the current school year, according to Salisbury police.
