Mary Jane E. Eckhart, 94, of Whitehall and formerly of Walnutport, died Nov. 15, 2025, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Harvey W. Eckhart.

Born in Kreidersville, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd S. and Stella E. (Borger) Lerch.

She was a 1949 graduate of Northampton High School.

She worked as a waitress for the former McCrory’s 5&10, Allentown, for 30 years before retiring in 1991.

She was a long time member of Christ United Church of Christ, Walnutport.

She is survived by two sons, Clark B. and wife Kathleen of Walnutport and Nathan S. and wife Ingrid of Coplay; a brother, Allen Lerch of Powder Springs, Ga.; a sister, Sarah Cole of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; Brandyn, Lauren, McKayla and Mariah; two stepgrandchildren, Holly and Deric; and five great-grandchildren, Nash, Mathilde, Graham, Nolan and Axel.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Sherwood and Samuel Lerch; and two sisters, Ruth Fenstermaker and Stella Minnich.

There will be a calling time 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Nov. 21 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, 18067.
