Enjoy spaghetti at fire company
The Schnecksville Fire company will host a spaghetti dinner 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 21 in the main banquet hall. The cash bar will be open.
Fire company volunteers will offer an all-you-can- eat buffet style breakfast 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 30. The menu will include ham, bacon, sausage, creamed chipped beef, home fries, pancakes, toast, beverages, omelets made to order and eggs any way you like them. Mimosas will be available at an additional cost.
St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, welcomes the community to a Thanksgiving eve service 7:30 p.m. Nov. 26. Advent and the new church year begins Nov. 30.
St. John’s will have a silent auction and bake sale 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23. All proceeds will go to children and families supported by the LAMB Institute, a home for orphaned, abandoned or abused children in Honduras.
As assortment of items will be available for the silent auction, such as crafts, electronics, baskets, toys and gift cards. This is a chance to do some holiday shopping while donating to a great cause.
Plenty of baked goods and hot dogs will be available for purchase in addition to some free snacks and drinks.
Earlier this year, a mission team from St. John’s traveled to Honduras and engaged in construction of classrooms and a house for a homeless family.
North Whitehall Township will have its annual tree lighting ceremony at Kolapechka Park, 4158 Coffeetown Road, Allentown, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 3. The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce has joined with the township to plan the program. The event will include holiday music, various performers, food trucks, activities and photos with Santa.
Township Manager Randy Cope said, “Here is a chance to connect with neighbors before the new year begins. We hope to see you there.”
