Alumni Spotlight: Celebrating Parkland Pride with the Jaindl Family

Parkland pride was on full display at a recent Alumni Spotlight event, where the Jaindl Family – spanning generations of farmers, entrepreneurs and community leaders – shared their inspiring story.

Held at The Club at Twin Lakes, the evening offered alumni a chance to reconnect, make new friends and see how Parkland grads continue to shape our community.

David Jaindl, owner and president of Jaindl Farms, shared stories that went beyond the turkeys his family first raised in 1933.

From growing up working in the family business to managing sprawling farms and diverse developments today, Jaindl’s reflections highlighted the values of hard work, family, and giving back to the Lehigh Valley.

The evening also revealed a lighter, personal sides of Jaindl.

He recounted pulling out of school before Thanksgiving to help with the family turkey processing, running track in his senior year as a form of rebellion and hanging out with friends at the First Presbyterian Church parking lot.

Attendees even learned about his favorite holiday side dishes (mashed potatoes and creamed spinach), ice cream flavor (vanilla) and vacation spots – plus, the story of how A-Treat orange soda became a family favorite!

Jaindl’s five children – Adam, Jake, Luke, Josh, and Joanna – are all actively involved in the family business, carrying forward a legacy of dedication, innovation and community focus.

With 11 grandchildren, the Jaindl family continues to thrive in the Lehigh Valley, proving that hard work and giving back truly go hand in hand.

The evening ended with mingling, laughter and plenty of Parkland pride, leaving alumni inspired by how one family’s commitment to land, family and community can make a lasting impact.
