Parkland boys X-country goes 17-0

The Parkland boys cross country team put the finishing touches on an unbeaten regular season last week, going 5-0 at a meet hosted by Emmaus at Camp Olympic to finish the regular season 17-0.

The Trojan girls team also ended a successful season as it went 4-1 at the meet to finish 15-2.

In the boys race, Parkland beat Allen (15-50), Dieruff (15-50), Central Catholic (19-44), Emmaus (23-38) and Whitehall (15-50).

Parkland’s Colin McGuigan (16:25.17) edged the Hornets’ Ryan Fach (16:27.97) for first place at the race. The Trojans’ Jaiden Zabler (5th), Cole Orloski (6th), Luke McEvoy (7th) and Isaiah Wilson (8th) made up the rest of Parkland’s top five at the meet.

In the girls meet, Parkland beat Allen (15-50), Dieruf (15-50), Central Catholic (18-45) and Whitehall (15-50) but lost to Emmaus (23-35).

Harshita Keerthi led Parkland with a second-place overall finish with teammate Emma Carlson in third place. The rest of Parkland’s top five included Madelyn Kruk (10th), Parker Tatun (11th) and Lilah Ellis (12th).

The Trojans ran in this week’s EPC Championship meet Tuesday and will compete in next week’s District 11 Championships Wednesday at DeSales University.
