NWL girls volleyball beats PA, Palmerton

This week brought the opening of the playoff season, but last week Northwestern Lehigh used its final two games of theregular season as a tune-up.

Two wins last week gave the Lady Tigers a five-game winning streak to finish the regular season schedule and push their season record to 14-6-0 with a league mark of 14-2-0.

The wins came against Palmerton and Pen Argyl, both in straight sets. Sophomore Kayla Schaffer had 25 assists in each of the games and Lexi George totaled 35 digs to lead the Tigers. Junior Daisy Stringer contributed 21 kills and Leah Nagle had 20 in the two weeks.

Northwestern downed Palmerton in straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-11. George had 23 of her digs in the win over Blue Bombers. George and freshman Jaelyn McAdams both had two aces in the game.

Pen Argyl also fell to Northwestern in straight sets, falling 25-12, 25-8, and 25-20. Lacy Clymer, a sophomore, had seven aces to lead Northwestern past the Green Knights.
