North Catasauqua: Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church to hold karaoke night

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, will hold karaoke night 5-9 p.m. Nov. 14. In addition to karaoke, there will be food, games, music, puzzles and fun.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will hold its monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 14 in the church parking lot. Drive through to donate your items.

Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit Catasauqua Area Food Bank.

The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.

The annual Biery House Holiday Shoppe returns to 8 Race St., Catasauqua, weekends Nov. 15-Dec. 7. The hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays. Discover handmade treasures from 65 artisans. Visit with Santa noon-2 p.m.

There is no cost to enter.

Food will be available, with cash-only sale for takeout food. Food options include pierogies, filling, halupkies, halushki, chicken corn chowder, chicken potpie soup, beef vegetable soup, apple dumplings and cutout cookies. This year you can eat lunch in the new pavilion and try a turkey bowl.

Parking is available in the rear.

The Biery House Museum will be open for tours. The event is sponsored by Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association and benefits the association and Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.

A winter coat distribution will take place 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 15 at Catasauqua Area School District Administration Office, 201 N. 14th St. New and gently used coats will be available for CASD students and their families.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, will host the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 and 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Nov. 16. Saturday Mass will be celebrated 6 p.m., and Sunday Mass will be celebrated 8 a.m.

The purpose of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue tours is to bring the grace of Fatima and Our Lady’s message of hope, peace and salvation to all.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua’s next free community lunch is set for 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 17. The lunch is for community members with food insecurity or those who could use a helping hand.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Nov. 17 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will hold a pancake breakfast 8:30-11 a.m. Nov. 22. The breakfast consists of buttermilk or pumpkin pancakes and sausage links.

The cost is by donation. Baked goods will also be available for sale. Proceeds from the breakfast benefit the pastor’s discretionary fund.

Catasauqua High School’s music department will be holding a holiday gift card bingo Nov. 22 in the cafeteria. Doors will open 11 a.m., and games will start 12:30 p.m.

There is a cost to play, with a discount for presale tickets. There will be door prizes with bigger, better raffles and more special games this year.

With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, consider donating to Catasauqua Community Food Bank, 527 Front St. The food bank is in need of pasta, cereal, soup, rice, stuffing, instant potatoes, granola bars and peanut butter crackers.

Donations may be dropped off during open hours, 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Monetary donations are also accepted. Any donations or checks to the food bank must be written to Catasauqua Community Partnership or CCPI, due to banking regulations.

Save the date for the annual North Catasauqua small Town USA Christmas tree lighting, set for 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. The rain date is 6 p.m. Dec. 1.

North Catasauqua Police Department will be collecting toys for the 2025 Toys for Tots program at the event. Officer Sadafi will be at the event to assist with the collection.

Consider donating a new toy or two at this holiday event to make a child happy this holiday season.

The Catasauqua and North Catasauqua J4 Committee is looking for new members and volunteers to help organize the community celebration of our country’s 250th anniversary, which will occur in 2026. The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at borough hall.

CHS’ music department asks the public to join them in National Wreaths Across America Dec. 13. Help the band honor local heroes and sponsor a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church is seeking donations for the church food pantry. Items that are especially in need include individual nonperishable meals such as Dinty Moore, cups of soup, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, individual servings of fruit that don’t need refrigeration, fruit boxes and men’s and women’s personal care items such as toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant.

Catasauqua Garden Club will not be sponsoring a bus to the Philadelphia Flower Show in 2026. The club appreciates all the folks that have ridden with them in the past, but last year they were not able to fill a bus and almost lost money on the trip.
