Juhasz, Fogel lead Falcons at CL X-country Championships

The Salisbury cross country teams competed in last week’s Colonial League Championships, held Wednesday, Oct. 15 at DeSales University.

Emerson Juhasz led the way for Salisbury’s boys team, finishing 62nd overall. Teammates Kaiden Conrad (87th), Dean Cachia (88th), Riley Nemitz (101st) and Rafael Carpo (106th) also competed in the meet for the Falcons.

Lydia Fogel finished 62nd in the girls Colonial League Championship race to lead Salisbury. Teammates Shelby Tenzer (86th), Samantha Conrad (88th) and Soledad Lausch (90th) also competed in the race.

Southern Lehigh’s Miles Etters won the boys race last week, finishing in 16:50.9 to beat Palmerton’s Connor Hibell (17:06.3) by 15 seconds.

Wilson won the boys team title with 59 points. Southern Lehigh and Notre Dame (Green Pond) tied for second place at 61 points.

In the girls race, Saucon Valley senior Virginia Kraus won her fourth straight league title.

Kraus is on the verge of finishing a career in which she won every postseason title she competed for. She’s looking for her fourth straight district title this week and will run for a fourth state title in Hershey in just over a week.

Notre Dame (Green Pond) edged Southern Lehigh for this year’s girls team title, 59-61. Wilson was third at 101.

The Falcons will be back at DeSales this Wednesday for the District 11 Championships.
