Grace G. Kagan

World War II veteran

Grace (Good) Kagan, 102, formerly of Silver Spring, Md., died Nov. 9, 2025, at Country Meadows of Allentown, where she had been residing. She was the wife of the late Harry Kagan. Born in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Ida (Betinsky) Good.

One of the oldest of “The Greatest Generation,” she faithfully and honorably served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For many years, she was employed as senior administrator for the United States House Committee on Ways and Means for Chairman Wilbur Daigh Mills, one of the most powerful men in Congress during his tenure of service. Despite her advanced age, she had a bubbly and endearing personality which resulted in frequent visitors and callers who kept in touch over the years.

She is survived by nephews, Dr. William L. Oppenheim and his wife, Patricia, of Marina Del Rey, Calif., James S. Oppenheim, of Hagerstown, Md.

She was predeceased by a nephew, Dr. Kenneth R. Oppenheim.
