Falcon football team falls in regular season finale

The Salisbury football team ended the regular season with a 56-27 loss to Palisades last Friday night

The Falcons (2-8) will move on to the District 11 Class 3A playoffs as the No. 8 seed. They will take on top-seeded Notre Dame (Green Pond) Thursday in a quarterfinal round game.

In last week’s game against Palisades, the Jamanni Cruz led Salisbury with 104 receiving yards on three catches, including a touchdown recpetion.

Three Salisbury receivers (Jadan Claudio, Logan Rameriz and Cruz) caught touchdown passes in the game while two different quarterbacks threw TD passes. Sophomore Jarrod Blunt went 2-for-2 with one touchdown pass while freshman Iovani Lopez-Rodriguez threw two touchdowns while completing six of nine passes for 168 yards.

Jacob Watson led the Falcons 50 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Sophomore Damon Heard scored for the Falcons on a 60-yard kickoff return.

The Pirates (7-3) move on to the Class 2A as the No. 5 seed with a game against Northern Lehigh set for Thursday.

Salisbury takes on Notre Dame (10-0) for the second time this season after losing to the Crusaders 63-0 on Aug. 29.

Thursday’s game is scheduled to be played at Catasauqua’s Alumni Field at 6:30 p.m.
