The Emmaus cross country teams finished the regular season last week and will begin postseason competition this week.
The Emmaus girls team went 5-0 at last week’s meet with wins over Allen (15-50), Dieruff (15-50), Whitehall (15-50), Central Catholic (16-47) and Parkland (23-35).
The Hornet boys team beat Allen (15-50), Dieruff (15-50), Central Catholic (18-44) and Whitehall (15-50), but lost to unbeaten Parkland (23-38).
Both Emmaus teams finished the season 16-1.
Mady McCartney led the EHS girls team with a first-place overall finish at the meet, which was held Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Camp Olympic.
McCartney finished in 17:55 with Parkland’s Harshita Keerthi second at 18:48.
The Hornets’ Olivia Fleck took fourth place overall, while Isabella Alwine-Balliro (fifth), Grace Nosal (sixth) and Myla Felegy (eighth) made up the rest of the team’s top five.
In the boys meet, Parkland’s Colin McGuigan (16:25.17) edged the Hornets’ Ryan Fach (16:27.97) for first place. Emmaus’ Roen Woolf finished third overall in the race, with teammates Zachary Zappile (14th), David Heran (15th) and Luke Harris (16th) making up the rest of the EHS team score.
Parkland had 10 of first 13 finishers in the boys race.
The postseason begins this week with the EPC Championships Tuesday at DeSales University.
