The Emmaus field hockey team opened the District 11 playoffs with a 7-0 win over Freedom last week.
Riley Povilaitis scored two goals in the win, while Avery Burnett, Morgann Orobono, Ella Horner, Gracie Huffer and Sarah Palazzo scored one goal each.
Madi Lenig had three assists in the win. Orobono had one assist.
Goal keepers Emily Romano and Aiko Price did not face a shot from No. 8 seed Freedom.
Emmaus peppered the Patriots’ goal with 38 shots and held a 17-2 edge in corners.
The Hornets are the top seed in the tournament and are seeking their 37th straight District 11 title. They faced No. 4 Northampton in a semifinal Tuesday with the winner advancing to Thursday’s title game at 7 pm at Whitehall where it will take on either No. 2 Easton or No. 3 Parkland for the title.
