The Emmaus High School boys soccer went 2-0-1 in its last three league games to remain unbeaten in the East Penn Conference.
Last Tuesday afternoon Emmaus took down East Stroudsburg North 10-0 with a season-high in goals scored. The Hornets followed that with a 2-0 win Thursday against Nazareth. Last Saturday, Emmaus and Liberty finished in a 0-0 draw.
In the win over the Timberwolves, Emmaus scored six goals in the first half and four in the second. Hornet goals were scored by, two a piece from Anthony Suida and Conner Powell, and one each from Brennan Stack, Canyon Reinhardt, Robbie Tumblin, Gabe Reyes, Caleb Brown and Logan Armstrong. Maseyn Muthard recorded three assists, two from Stack and one apiece from Suida and Reinhardt. Emmaus finished with 27 shots, 18 on goal, and did not allow one. Both Will Peck and Nate Schalles split time in net and weren’t forced into action.
In the victory against the Blue Eagles, the Hornets scored a goal in each half as Reinhardt and Tumblin each found the back of the net. Emmaus outshot Nazareth 12-2 and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. Peck and Gavin Yartymyk both had one save.
The game with the Hurricanes saw no goals through a half and two overtime periods. Emmaus had 10 shots, four on goal, while Liberty had eight total and five on goal. Yartymyk finished with five saves.
Emmaus (14-0-3 overall; 13-0-3 EPC) and Parkland (15-0-1, 15-0) are the only unbeaten teams in the EPC. The Hornets end the regular season with a home game against Parkland Wednesday.
