CWSA building generator project moves forward

During Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority’s brief meeting Oct. 16, General Manager Matt Harleman supplied an update on the new CWSA building generator, saying the propane tank was recently set and the start-up is complete. A successful load transfer test was done.

Harleman also updated the board on the Cementon-Northampton Bridge project and CWSA’s relocation requirement. Phase I is complete, and once they shift the road approaches over, they’ll be able to do phase II, which includes the sewer relocation.

CWSA will perform an extension of the future parking lot. This will occur after the roads move to the new bridge.

Community Affairs Officer Joseph Marx questioned Harleman on the field report, noticing May’s comparison to April of last year, where the number was substantially higher.

Chairman James Hahn brought up the dispute with the Lehigh County Authority invoices. Harlemen said a letter from CWSA has been sent. A copy of that letter will be included in the next board package.

Hahn also mentioned a number of correspondence items, including the 2025 KISS meeting agenda and meeting handouts, the 2026 estimated treatment charges provided by LCA, the Pennsylvania Municipal Health Insurance Cooperative surplus refund in the amount of $12,088 and a copy of the October 2025 authority magazine, which was included in the board package.
