Resident in college production

Owen Haas of Bethlehem will participate in Wig and Buckle Theater Company’s upcoming production of “Alice by Heart” from Oct. 30 through Nov. 2, at Lebanon Valley College. Haas plays trumpet in the pit.

Haas, a graduate of Liberty High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music in audio and music production at The Valley.

Bethlehem resident part of recording team

Owen Haas of Bethlehem is one of 22 students who recorded Jungle Book, the second commercial release from Lebanon Valley College’s Valley Jazz Orchestra.

Haas is featured on trumpet. Haas, a graduate of Liberty High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music in audio and music production at The Valley.

Local student participates in brew making

Abriana Ferrari of Bethlehem is one of three Lebanon Valley College students to participate in the creation of this year’s Flying Dutchman Ale. The science majors collaborated with Snitz Creek Brewery to create a recipe and brew the traditional ale served at Homecoming.

Ferrari is pursuing a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology at LVC.

Resident inducted into honor society

Ashley Perez Rodriguez of Bethlehem was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Jacksonville University.

Perez Rodriguez is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.

Skopal leads Catholic ministry

William Skopal of Bethlehem has been name copresident of Catholic Campus Ministry at Muhlenberg College.

A ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Allentown, Catholic Campus Ministry provides an environment for Catholic students to share and express their faith by engaging with other members in liturgical worship, devotions, fellowship, and community.

Skopal is studying History at Muhlenberg as a member of the college’s class of 2026.

Muhlenberg’s student groups include academic societies, advocacy organizations, cultural, religious, and social clubs, performance teams, media, and special interest organizations.

Some require an audition or invitation of membership before joining.
